The Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District Office of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has received a new pick-up vehicle and a motorbike to strengthen its operations and improve service delivery.
The Member of Parliament for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa, in collaboration with the District Chief Executive, Hon. James Wor, secured the pick-up vehicle for the Directorate, while the District Assembly provided the motorbike as additional logistical support.
The vehicles were handed over at a ceremony at the District NHIS Office on October 23, 2026, attended by staff of the Directorate, the Paramount Chief and other community stakeholders.
Speaking after the handover, the MP said he worked with the DCE to secure the pick-up, leveraging his position as a member of Parliament’s Health Committee to lobby for the vehicle.
He commended the Directorate’s staff for their performance despite operating without a vehicle and other logistical support, expressing confidence that the new vehicle would improve their work.
The MP also highlighted other interventions to strengthen the district office, including the construction of its current office building, its separation from the Nadowli-Kaleo District Office, the recruitment of additional staff and the provision of potable water.
He thanked President John Dramani Mahama, Health Minister Dr. Mintah Akandoh and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) for their support.

The District Chief Executive, James Wor, also praised the NHIS staff and expressed optimism that the additional vehicles would improve their mobility and service delivery.
Receiving the vehicles, the District NHIS Manager thanked the MP and the DCE for their support, acknowledging their previous interventions to improve the office’s operations.
The manager assured that the Directorate would maintain the pick-up in accordance with the NHIA’s vehicle maintenance policy.
