Minister of Communications Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has proclaimed Ghana as a role model in cybersecurity, asserting that other nations seek to learn from its achievements.
“Cybersecurity, We’re role models. People come to learn from our achievements. We go there to teach them”, she stated.
She emphasized that digitization is essential for progress, positioning Ghana among the top performers in Africa.
“Digitization is the only way to move from where we are to the next level. We must adopt digitized methods to make progress. In the African context, Ghana is performing well; all key indices show we’re up there.”
Speaking in an interview with Kwame Adinkra on PureFM monitored by www.kumasimail.com Owusu-Ekuful noted that Ghana’s leadership in the sector is supported by Vice President Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to integrating digitization into national development strategies.
She said “In this sector, we are leaders. We can achieve even more because Dr. Bawumia believes digitization is key to unlocking our prosperity and taking it to the next level. That’s why he ensures that everything we do incorporates digitization”.
Owusu Ekuful highlighted Rwanda’s interest in Ghana’s digital advancements, stating that Ghanaians have significantly contributed to Rwanda’s digital growth.
She stressed “We can continue doing the same things and still get results, albeit at a slower pace. However, to move to the next level among African nations, we need to change our approach.
“Rwanda, which is often cited as a model, comes to learn from us. In fact, Ghanaians have played a significant role in helping Rwanda develop its digital space, and the knowledge is here”.
