Mahama is a failed president; give Bawumia a chance – Akufo-Addo to Ghanaians

President Nana Akufo-Addo has expressed strong confidence in Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as a capable and well-prepared leader, poised to guide Ghana to greater achievements.

The President believes that Dr Bawumia has the necessary skills and experience to lead the nation to new heights.

President Akufo-Addo criticized former President John Dramani Mahama, labelling him a failed leader who does not deserve a second opportunity at the presidency.

He argued that Mahama’s previous term was not successful and that Ghana would be better served with fresh leadership under Dr Bawumia.

The President called on Ghanaians to support Dr Bawumia’s presidential campaign, citing his extensive experience in governance and his clear vision for Ghana’s development.

He is confident that Dr Bawumia is the right choice to continue the work started by the current administration and to build on its achievements.

Speaking to a gathering of professional groups in Kumasi on Sunday, 24th November, Akufo-Addo emphasized the pivotal role of the Ashanti Region in securing electoral victory for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He highlighted the region’s importance in ensuring a strong voter turnout and rallying support for the party. The President warned against repeating what he described as the mistake of 2008, when the NPP lost power.

He urged the people of the Ashanti Region to fully back Dr Bawumia, ensuring a decisive victory in the 2024 elections. His message was clear: unity and support for Dr Bawumia are crucial to the party’s success.

“We have two people who are in the race. One, a failed president and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. There are four other people who have had the blessing of the Almighty and the support of the people of Ghana to become presidents of Ghana.”

“Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, John Dramani Mahama, and myself. Of all these, Jerry John Rawlings had a second term, John Agyekum Kufuor had a second term, and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had a second term.”

“The only one who was not given a second term was John Dramani Mahama and the reason is that he did a poor job,” he insisted.
