The Electoral Commission is set to declare winner of the 2024 presidential election at half past four later today, Deputy Chair in charge of operations, Samuel Tettey has said.
Delivering a routine briefing post-election, he told the media that the commission had taken receipt of thirteen regional results across the country and could make a determination on those figures.
“We wish to inform the general public and the citizens as a whole that the commission as at now has received the thirteen out the sixteen results and for that matter, the returning officer of the presidential election and the commission will be declaring the results of the presidential election at 4:30pm,” Samuel Tettey told reporters in a joint appearance with his colleague Deputy Chair, Dr. Bossman Asare.
He warned the public not to come to the Electoral Commission’s premises unless they had the due accreditation. He said it was “no need” for political party supporters to “besiege” the National Collation Centre.
