Four out of six newly approved Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Ashanti Region have been officially sworn into office by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene.
The ceremony was held at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) immediately after their confirmation on Tuesday 13th May 2025.
They include Pearl Patricia Ankrah MCE for Afigya Kwabere South, Frank Owusu Ansah MCE for Suame MCE for Suame, Ben Abdula MCE for Asawase, among others.

Dr. Amoakohene, in his address, called on the new MMDCEs to serve diligently with a deep sense of patriotism and loyalty to President John Dramani Mahama, under whose administration they were appointed.
He emphasized that the MMDCEs are the direct representatives of the President and must embody the hopes and aspirations of the people they serve.
“As true representatives of His Excellency and the aspirations of our people, I urge you to lead with the nation at heart and the President in mind,” Dr. Amoakohene said.

To ensure that the newly appointed MMDCEs are well-prepared for their roles, the Minister announced plans to roll out a series of workshops and training sessions in the coming days.
A formal inaugural ceremony is expected to follow once the remaining two nominees are approved.
Dr. Amoakohene also expressed his gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the opportunity to serve the region and acknowledged the unwavering support of Assembly Members and Members of Parliament.
“Together, we build a stronger Ashanti Region,” he affirmed.
The event marks a significant step in the local governance process, aimed at strengthening development efforts and leadership at the district and municipal levels across the region.
