Friends of Bawumia UK (FOB UK) has congratulated Andy Owusu on his election as Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) UK branch and pledged its full support for his administration.
Owusu was elected during the NPP UK branch elections held on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
In a statement issued on Sunday, FOB UK said the election reflected the confidence and trust members had placed in Owusu’s leadership, vision and commitment to the development of the branch and the wider party.
The group expressed confidence that under his leadership, the NPP UK branch would strengthen its organisational structures, deepen member engagement and advance the party’s objectives in the United Kingdom.
“As a dedicated volunteer group within the NPP, Friends of Bawumia UK pledges its full cooperation and support to the new Chairman, Mr. Andy Owusu,” the statement said.
FOB UK said it looked forward to working with the new administration to promote party unity, organisational growth and electoral success.
The group also called for unity following the elections, citing a message attributed to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia that “Together we stand, divided we fall.”
According to FOB UK, the message highlights the need for collective purpose, reconciliation and teamwork as the party prepares to address future challenges and opportunities.
The group further congratulated candidates who won the various positions contested in the elections and urged them to view their election as both an honour and a responsibility.
FOB UK also commended all candidates, delegates, election officials and party members whose participation, it said, contributed to a peaceful, transparent and democratic electoral process.
It described the successful conduct of the elections as a demonstration of the NPP’s internal democratic values and organisational strength.
As the NPP UK branch begins a new phase under its newly elected leadership, FOB UK called on members and supporters to unite behind the new executives in a spirit of comradeship, mutual respect and commitment to the progress of the party.
The group again congratulated Owusu, the newly elected executives and the wider NPP UK membership on the outcome of the elections.
