The Member of Parliament for Asawase Constituency in the Ashanti region, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, has commended the efforts of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region for their hard work in countering what he described as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) election-rigging strategies.
Speaking at the party’s Zone 2 victory celebration, the Asawase MP urged party members in the region to remain united for the progress of the NDC and Ghana as a whole.
“While we were campaigning, we worked as a team for victory. I pray and hope that this unity will be maintained,” he said.
He highlighted the significance of the Ashanti Region in the NDC’s electoral performance, noting that it was the second region to deliver the highest number of votes for the party after the Greater Accra Region.
“This means that Ashanti believes in the NDC, even though it is traditionally the NPP’s stronghold. We cannot disappoint the region. All we pray for is the strength to meet the demands and needs of the people, and we are in a position to deliver. but I can assure you that President John Mahama that I know will never disappoint Ashanti region. if for nothing Ashanti region is our second second major stronghold in terms of nominal figures ” he assured.
Hon. Muntaka also encouraged the party’s zonal campaign coordinators to document their campaign strategies for future elections, particularly for the 2028 polls.
He emphasized the importance of leveraging the momentum gained in the region to further strengthen the party’s position as a formidable force in Ghanaian politics.
