A new chapter has begun at the Ministry of Defence as Kenneth Gilbert Adjei formally assumed office as Minister for Defence following a handing-over ceremony held at the Ministry.

Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, described the ceremony as smooth and successful and pledged his support for the new minister as he assumes responsibility for the sector.
In a statement posted on Facebook, Brogya Genfi welcomed Hon. Adjei to the ministry and expressed confidence in his leadership and experience.

“Welcome home Boss. I am proud to serve alongside you as your Deputy Minister, and I am even more proud to support your leadership,” he said.
According to the Deputy Minister, Hon. Adjei’s experience would be invaluable to the ministry as it works to advance the vision of President and Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, H.E. John Dramani Mahama.

Mr. Brogya Genfi also expressed appreciation to the outgoing Acting Minister for Defence, Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson, for his leadership and contribution during his tenure.
“Thank you Sir. Your calm leadership and collaboration made this transition seamless. It has been a great working relationship and I am grateful,” he stated.

The Deputy Defence Minister further called on the Chief Director, Chief of the Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, Forces Sergeant Major, personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces, as well as management and staff of the Ministry of Defence, to maintain high standards in the discharge of their duties.
“Let’s keep serving with excellence,” he added.

The transition marks the beginning of Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei’s tenure as Defence Minister, with the ministry expected to continue its work in support of Ghana’s defence and national security objectives under the leadership of President Mahama.
