Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi has been officially confirmed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).
Boadi, who previously served as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Obuasi under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, secured an overwhelming endorsement from the assembly.
He received 55 out of 56 votes cast by Assembly Members, affirming his appointment following a nomination by President John Dramani Mahama.
At his confirmation, Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene called on the new KMA Mayor to prioritize key issues affecting the city, including decongestion, improved sanitation, and challenges at the Kejetia Market.
He noted that these persistent problems continue to hinder the development of the Kumasi Metropolis.
Dr. Amoakohene assured that the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council will work closely with the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to implement effective solutions for the benefit of city residents.
