A heated debate has erupted across social media platforms as users continue to weigh in on the growing controversy surrounding the funeral arrangements of late highlife icon Daddy Lumba (Charles Kwadwo Fosu).
The discussions intensified shortly after news broke that the Accra High Court had placed an injunction on the funeral following a petition from the musician’s maternal family.

Online commenters have expressed sharply divided opinions, with many pointing fingers at key family figures over what they describe as a poorly managed process.
One user criticised the late musician’s personal life, suggesting it had complicated the current situation: “Lumba has disgraced himself and his family. His disrespect for women and disregard for marriage have brought him this far… My worry is when the time comes for the sharing of his estate among the nearly 20 kids, two recognised wives, siblings and the hungry Ebusuapanyin.”
Others, however, argued that the blame lies not with the late artist but with family leadership. “Senior, this one deɛ it’s the family disgracing themselves… The man managed the women and children well while alive. The current situation could have been handled better but for greed and selfish interests.”
Another contributor said both sides shared responsibility but accused the family head of failing in his duties: “From your explanations, the two of you are right… The family should take the blame, especially the Ebusuapanyin. He didn’t manage things right. I have just been told the court has placed an injunction on the funeral. Fresh!”
Some users drew parallels with past high-profile family disputes, referencing the case of the late Asonaba Daapah, whose funeral was marred by litigation between children and extended family.
“There was a lengthy family litigation… The children hijacked the funeral and the family never saw the body until it was buried.”
Amid the criticisms, a number of commenters called for calm and respectful dialogue among all parties involved.
“Very gentle with the move. The level of harmony, peace and respect for every stakeholder especially the older ones will shoot up,” one user wrote.
