Transport Minister Joseph Bukari Nikpe has assured Ghanaians that transport fares will remain unchanged for the time being.
This announcement comes despite recent fluctuations in fuel prices, which have often led to calls for fare revisions.
The Minister addressing the press emphasized that he is in constant communication with transport unions and operators.
Nikpe explained that fare adjustments are determined by a structured formula, and no decision has been made yet to either increase or decrease fares.
He explained“We have a formula in which we use to either increase or reduce prices and we have not gotten there yet.
“I am in the constant touch with the unions, the transport operatives. We are in good touch and working together”, he stated.
He urged the public to ignore all the rumors circulating about transport fare increases.
“Ghanaians should rest assured that fares will be maintained for some time before any adjustments are made”
