An Executive Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Nandom Constituency, Emmanuel Soglizu, has urged party members to protect the unity of the party as branch executive elections begin across the constituency.
In a statement released on Friday, Soglizu appealed to aspirants, delegates and grassroots supporters to conduct themselves peacefully and avoid actions that could create division within the party.
“These elections must not divide us. They must strengthen our unity, renew our energy and deepen our commitment to the ideals of social justice, inclusiveness and grassroots empowerment,” he said.
The branch elections form part of the NDC’s nationwide internal reorganisation ahead of future political contests, with party members expected to elect executives at the branch level.
Soglizu described the NDC as a party built on the sacrifices and loyalty of ordinary grassroots supporters, saying the strength of the party continues to rest in communities and electoral areas across the constituency.
“The soul of our party lies with the hardworking men and women who continue to defend the umbrella in every community, village and electoral area,” he stated.
He also cautioned contestants against turning the elections into personal battles, insisting leadership within the NDC should be anchored on service and sacrifice rather than self-interest.
“Leadership within the NDC is not about personal glorification. It is about service, humility, sacrifice and dedication to the collective progress of the party,” Soglizu stressed.
The UBIDS law lecturer further called on delegates to elect leaders capable of strengthening the party at the grassroots.
“Let us choose leaders who are accessible, hardworking, respectful, unifying and committed to the growth of the party,” he urged.
Soglizu also appealed to supporters of various aspirants to avoid insults, misinformation and tension during the election period.
“Our strength has always been in our unity, solidarity and discipline as a party. Elections will come and go, but the NDC remains our common political home,” he added.
He encouraged members to rally behind the constituency leadership and Member of Parliament for Nandom, Richard Kuuire, after the elections.
According to him, the people of Nandom continue to look to the NDC for “leadership, development and hope,” making it necessary for party members to demonstrate political maturity throughout the process.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
A MESSAGE OF GOODWILL TO ALL ASPIRANTS, DELEGATES AND MEMBERS OF THE NDC IN NANDOM CONSTITUENCY IN ONGOING BRANCH EXECUTIVE ELECTIONS
Fellow Comrades, Brothers and Sisters of the Great National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Nandom Constituency,
As our great party rolls out the all-important branch executive elections across our beloved constituency, I extend my warmest greetings and sincere goodwill to every aspirant, delegate, branch executive, youth activist, women organizer, cadre and grassroots member participating in this democratic exercise.
The NDC has always distinguished itself as a party built on the strength, sacrifices and commitment of ordinary grassroots people. From our branches to the national level, the soul of our party lies with the hardworking men and women who continue to defend the umbrella in every community, village and electoral area.
These elections must therefore not divide us. Rather, they should strengthen our unity, renew our energy and deepen our commitment to the ideals of social justice, inclusiveness, grassroots empowerment and development for all.
I wish every contestant success as they present themselves for the confidence and support of party members. Leadership within the NDC is not about personal glorification; it is about service, sacrifice, humility and dedication to the collective progress of the party and our beloved constituency.
To all delegates and voting members, I respectfully urge you to vote with wisdom, fairness and the long-term interest of the NDC at heart. Let us choose leaders who are accessible, hardworking, respectful, unifying and committed to the growth of the party at the branch level and beyond.
As grassroots people, we understand that elections come and go, but the NDC remains our common family and political home. After the elections, we must come together stronger than before to support our constituency executives, our Member of Parliament Hon. Richard Kuuire, and the broader vision of the party.
I also encourage all aspirants and their supporters to conduct their campaigns peacefully and respectfully. Let us avoid insults, division, misinformation and unnecessary tension. Our strength has always been in our unity, solidarity and discipline as a party.
The people of Nandom continue to look up to the NDC for leadership, development and hope. We must therefore demonstrate maturity, brotherhood and political tolerance throughout this process.
Together, let us build a stronger NDC from the branches upward.
Long Live the NDC!
Long Live Nandom Constituency!
Long Live Ghana!
