Ghanaian musician Manifest has called on the public to shift attention from controversial claims by self-proclaimed prophet Ebo Noah and focus on victims of recent floods that have claimed 12 lives across the country.
Manifest, in a statement shared on X, criticised the publicity surrounding Ebo Noah, arguing that the attention given to him should instead be directed towards people who have suffered losses and trauma from the flooding.
“Please stop amplifying Ebo Noah. People are experiencing tragic losses and trauma from the floods. He’s just another opportunistic charlatan who never should have been given a platform,” Manifest said.
His comments follow widespread public discussions about Ebo Noah’s activities and claims, which have gained attention on social media at a time when parts of Ghana are grappling with the effects of severe flooding.
The floods have resulted in the deaths of 12 people, while several communities have reported destruction of property, displacement of residents, and significant disruption to livelihoods.
Manifest’s remarks have reignited conversations about the responsibility of media platforms and public figures when giving visibility to claims during national emergencies.
Meanwhile, authorities and relief agencies continue efforts to assess the extent of the damage and provide support to communities affected by the floods.
