The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has commended the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for its ongoing interventions aimed at improving the reliability of electricity supply across the Ashanti Region.
He gave the commendation during the maiden meeting of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), where ECG officials presented updates on the region’s power situation, ongoing infrastructure projects, customer service initiatives, and operational measures to strengthen electricity distribution.

The meeting brought together the four General Managers of ECG in the Ashanti Region, Regional Engineers, and Public Relations Officers, who briefed members of the RCC on efforts being undertaken to enhance power supply and meet the growing electricity demand in the region.

Addressing the meeting, Dr. Amoakohene praised ECG for its continued investments and operational interventions, noting that reliable electricity remains critical to the region’s socio-economic development.
He encouraged the company to sustain its efforts to ensure stable and efficient power supply for residents and businesses.

As part of its presentation, ECG highlighted a number of sub-transmission and network reinforcement projects currently being implemented across the region.

These include upgrades to substations and other critical infrastructure intended to improve system reliability, reduce outages, and increase the capacity of the power distribution network to accommodate rising demand.

The company also responded to concerns raised by stakeholders regarding metering services. ECG assured the Council that measures are being implemented to improve meter availability and service delivery while addressing customer concerns promptly.
Officials further appealed to customers to pay their electricity bills on time, stressing that prompt payment is essential to sustaining operations, maintaining infrastructure, and delivering reliable electricity services.
ECG reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Regional Coordinating Council and other stakeholders to enhance customer service and ensure a stable electricity supply across the Ashanti Region.
