Alan Kyerematen’s Afrafranto Movement for change energizes Accra with unstoppable momentum

In a powerful demonstration of political vigor, Alan Kyerematen, the presidential candidate and leader of the Movement for Change/Alliance for Revolutionary Change, has once again captured the attention of Accra with his dynamic meet-and-greet campaign.

The event, which traversed key areas such as Maamobi, Nima, New Town, and Circle, highlighted the growing influence of the Afrafranto Movement. Traders and residents enthusiastically rallied behind Mr. Kyerematen, embracing his vision for a transformed Ghana.

The overwhelming support and enthusiasm seen throughout the campaign underscore Alan Kyerematen’s rising prominence as a strong alternative to the entrenched NDC-NPP duopoly. As Mr. Kyerematen made his way through bustling markets and diverse neighborhoods, the atmosphere was electric, with large crowds gathering to show their support for the leader they believe can usher in a new era of economic transformation and governance reform.

Among the supporters was Auntie Maggie, a New Town resident who became emotional upon seeing Mr. Kyerematen. She expressed her belief that despite the challenges he faced within the NPP, including perceived mistreatment by President Nana Addo, Mr. Kyerematen’s perseverance will ultimately be rewarded.

This wave of support reflects a deep-seated dissatisfaction with the traditional political establishment. Ghanaians from various walks of life, including traders, artisans, and everyday citizens, are calling for genuine change—a change that Alan Kyerematen is determined to deliver.

Central to his campaign are innovative proposals such as the creation of a Traders’ Bank and the development of modern markets equipped with essential facilities like clinics and crèches.

These initiatives are designed to economically empower traders by providing access to specialized financial services and secure, modern business environments. By fostering a robust middle class anchored by empowered traders, Mr. Kyerematen envisions a future where these individuals play a pivotal role in driving national growth and prosperity.

During a media interview, Alan Kyerematen reiterated his commitment to key economic reforms, including the removal of import duties on spare parts—a policy aimed at reducing transportation costs and, by extension, lowering food prices across the country. This proposal has further solidified his appeal among voters.

Mr. Kyerematen also urged Ghanaians to look beyond the two main political parties and embrace his vision of a government of national unity, which he argues is superior to the current winner-takes-all system.

Accompanying the Afrafranto Movement’s presidential candidate were prominent figures from the Alliance for Revolutionary Change, including Dr. Abu Sakara, Mr. Akeasi Odike, Nana Ohene Ntow, Lawyer Boaben Asamoa, and Miss Tina Mensah. Their presence underscores the broad-based support the movement is garnering, positioning it as an increasingly credible political force.

As the Afrafranto Movement continues to gain momentum ahead of the upcoming elections, it is becoming clear that a significant shift in Ghana’s political landscape may be on the horizon.

The scenes in Accra suggest that Ghanaians are ready to break away from the traditional political cycle and embrace a new leader who offers a transformative vision for the future.

With Alan Kyerematen leading the charge, the Afrafranto Movement is poised to usher Ghana into a new era of economic empowerment and national transformation.
