The National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says the final delegates register for the party’s national officers election has been completed and will be available for collection from Thursday, September 17, 2026.
The register is part of preparations for the NPP’s National Annual Delegates Conference and election of national officers scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The announcement was made after NOEC’s final engagement with aspirants and their representatives, during which the committee briefed them on the rules, regulations, guidelines and operational arrangements for the election.
NOEC said delegates would also be able to verify their eligibility through an online facility on the party’s official website.
Under the verification process, delegates are required to enter their phone number or Voter ID number to receive a one-time password (OTP), after which they can check their eligibility.
Voting arrangements
NOEC said all eligible youth delegates would vote in the election of the National Youth Organiser in addition to the other positions for which they are eligible to vote.
Similarly, all female delegates would vote in the election of the National Women’s Organiser alongside the other elections in which they are entitled to participate.
For the election of the three National Vice-Chairpersons, each delegate will be required to select three aspirants. NOEC said the tally system would be used to count the votes, with detailed voting instructions to be communicated before voting begins.
Proxy voting permitted
The committee also confirmed that proxy voting would be permitted in the election.
According to NOEC, a Proxy Voting Framework has been developed to guide eligibility, applications, verification, approval and the eventual casting of proxy votes.
The committee will directly oversee the administration and implementation of the proxy voting process, assisted by its secretariat.
The final Proxy Register is expected to be published on September 27, 2026.
Aspirants to submit agents
As part of measures to enhance transparency and representation, aspirants have been asked to submit the names of their printing agents to monitor the printing of ballot papers on their behalf.
They are also required to submit the names and photographs of their polling agents to facilitate identification, accreditation and access arrangements ahead of election day.
NOEC urged aspirants, delegates and their supporters to comply with the established electoral, accreditation and security requirements.
Electoral Commission to conduct election
The Electoral Commission of Ghana will conduct the elections under the supervision of NOEC and in accordance with the rules, regulations and guidelines issued by the committee.
NOEC said it was working with the Electoral Commission and the Ghana Police Service on arrangements to ensure an orderly, secure and transparent electoral process.
Delegates are expected to arrive in Kumasi on the evening of Friday, October 2, 2026, with the conference scheduled to commence at 9:00 a.m. the following day.
Media accreditation
Media organisations, journalists and bloggers seeking to cover the conference are required to obtain accreditation.
NOEC said applications must be submitted by September 21, 2026, through the NPP’s official website, where applicants are expected to select an accreditation category, complete the application and upload a photograph.
A Media Village will also be established at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for accredited media houses wishing to set up studios for pre-event and post-event coverage.
Requests for space at the Media Village must be submitted by Friday, September 18, 2026.
However, media houses will not have access to the inner perimeter of the stadium for security and operational reasons. Instead, the party’s dedicated production team will provide an official broadcast feed for broadcast houses to use for live transmission and coverage.
NOEC Chairman, Frederick Opare-Ansah, said the committee remained committed to conducting a fair, transparent, orderly and credible electoral process.
He thanked the Electoral Commission, Ghana Police Service, party structures, aspirants and their representatives, delegates, the media and other stakeholders for their cooperation as preparations continue towards the October 3 conference.
