Outspoken Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has cautioned party faithful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Essikado-Ketan constituency not to underestimate the Parliamentary Candidate (PC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking at the launch of the NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Charles Bissue’s campaign in the Essikado-Ketan constituency in the Western region on Saturday, Mr Agyapong noted that the only way Bissue can beat NDC’s Dr Grace Danquah to maintain the seat for the NPP after 20 years of dominance is for all and sundry to work extra hard to convince people.
“I plead with you, let’s not treat this as a funfair but go to the various houses and spread the good word. Do not underestimate the Parliamentary Candidate of the NDC who is contesting. Do not underestimate her.
“She has contested a sitting MP twice. The last time, the sitting MP had 26,000 votes, and she had 24,000.”
“If you joke, thinking this is your stronghold and don’t campaign, you may lose the seat. So, I plead with the executives and the PC, we need unity, or else we won’t be victorious,” he stated.
