The Ghana Empire was a West African empire based in the modern-day southeast of Mauritania and western Mali that existed from c. 300 until c. 1100.
The name “Ghana” came from the Soninke people. The word meant “Warrior King”. The people of time used this term to refer to the region, while they used the word “Wagadu” to refer to the empire.
In the Middle Ages, the tales about the land of gold in Africa spread throughout Europe. Arab merchants talked about the Wagadu Empire, known also as the Ghana Empire. One of the main gold producers in the world was the Wagadu Empire. How come this history is hidden from the world.
