NAPO urges Ghanaians to vote for Dr. Bawumia for a better future

The Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has expressed surprise over former President John Mahama’s recent call for prayers from religious leaders.

Dr. Prempeh, commonly known as Napo, pointed out that Mahama had previously criticized these same leaders, accusing them of hypocrisy for praying for the NPP and its leadership.

Speaking at a durbar in Afrancho, Afigya Kwabere South, in the Ashanti Region, Napo questioned Mahama’s sincerity in seeking support from religious leaders after his earlier remarks.

He also highlighted what he described as a persistent lack of respect by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) towards traditional authorities, a situation he believes should be a concern for all Ghanaians.

NPP’s Commitment to Traditional Leaders

Addressing a large crowd of chiefs, religious leaders, and party supporters, Dr. Prempeh reiterated the NPP’s respect for traditional and religious authorities.

He emphasized the vital role these leaders play in shaping Ghana’s future and affirmed the party’s commitment to continuously seek their counsel and blessings.

Napo’s remarks were met with strong support from the audience, which included various community and religious leaders.

They praised the NPP for its ongoing contributions to the development of the region, particularly highlighting the impact of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

Campaign Tour in Afigya Kwabere

As part of his campaign activities, Dr. Prempeh toured the principal streets and markets of Afrancho and Boamang in Afigya Kwabere North.

He also paid a courtesy call on the chief of Ahenkro, where he stressed the importance of collaboration between the government and traditional leaders to achieve sustainable development.

Traditional Leaders Applaud NPP’s Achievements

Nana Sasanu, chief of Bomso, speaking on behalf of the traditional leaders, expressed satisfaction with the NPP’s development initiatives in the area. He particularly lauded the Free SHS policy, which he said has brought significant improvements to education in the region.

The event also saw support from the clergy and Muslim leaders, who offered prayers for the NPP and its leadership, underscoring their confidence in the party’s vision for Ghana.

With the December elections approaching, Napo’s message of respect for tradition and partnership with religious institutions continues to resonate with constituents, further solidifying the NPP’s foothold in the Ashanti Region.
