Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been on the campaign trail, visiting nursing trainees at the Komfo Anokye Nurse Training Collage in Kumasi.
With the December 7th elections looming, Dr. Prempeh is rallying support among nursing students, promising swift and increased allowances to make their stay on campuses more comfortable .
He said under the previous government, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nursing trainees allowances were canceled and replaced with student for two years, a government decision he criticized but said the NPP has reinstated them despite some delays in payment.
Dr. Prempeh also pledged to relocated the school to expand students enrolment capacity, allowing for more student admissions. He emphasized the impact of the NPP’s policies, including free SHS and free nursing training, which have tripled enrollment numbers.
He encouraged the nursing trainees to vote wisely, as their decision would shape their future and that of their children. Dr. Prempeh stressed that a vote for the NPP would ensure expanded medical services and improved access for all.
In his final words, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh stated that voting for the NPP would protect the future of the nursing students.
