The Electoral Commission has addressed concerns regarding the absence of National Democratic Congress (NDC) party agents and clarified the status of the Supreme Court petition.

This address follows the re-collation of ballot papers which was an order by the Accra High Court ruling, allowing the EC to finalize the election results for the Tema Central, Nsawam-Adoagyir, Ablekuma North, Ahafo Ano North, Techiman South, and Okaikwei Central constituencies.

Addressing the media at the EC’s Greater Accra Regional Office, Dr Benjamin Bannor-Bio emphasized that the EC had no knowledge of any petition by the Supreme Court to halt the collation process .

” I must tell you that we do not have any knowledge of such a petition,” he stated. Dr. Bannor- Bio confirmed that invitations had been sent to all parties and highlighted that regulations allow the collation process to continue even if an agent is not present.

“We have invited all the parties to bring their agents here, the regulations say that if an agent is not there, the exercise should continue,” he explained.

The Commission reiterated their commitment to transparency and inclusiveness in the electoral process, ensuring that all parties are informed and involved.
