Mahmoud Kabore has been cleared to contest for the position of Ashanti Regional Communications Officer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) after successfully undergoing vetting, securing the number one (1) position on the ballot paper.
Speaking to the media after the vetting exercise, Mr. Kabore expressed confidence in his readiness to lead the party’s regional communication department, citing his vision, experience and commitment to strengthening the party’s communication structures.
He said the vetting panel assessed the candidates’ capacity to handle their respective positions and was satisfied with his presentation and plans for the department.

According to him, the successful vetting marks the beginning of the next phase of the contest, which he said would require commitment and action to translate his vision into tangible results.
Mr. Kabore said his ambition was to build on the foundations laid by his boss the former Ashanti regional communi ation ocficer, Nurudeen Abass Mohammed, whom he credited with establishing a solid foundation for the regional communication department.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the party’s national leadership Sammy Gyamfi in particular for building its communication structures, stressing that his goal was to consolidate the existing gains and make the NDC’s communication machinery more effective and vibrant in the region when elected.
“We are here to build on that foundation to make the communication machinery of our party one of the most viable and strong political communication machineries in this country,” he said.
He added that a stronger communication department would improve the party’s public image and attractiveness, ultimately contributing to its electoral fortunes in the 2028 general elections and beyond.
On his engagement with delegates, Kabore described the feedback as encouraging, indicating that his campaign had received positive responses across the Ashanti Region.
He, however, acknowledged that the selection process was yet to be completed in some constituencies, expressing hope that delegates would carefully consider his vision, experience, commitment and humility before making their decisions.
Mr. Kabore appealed to the delegates to support his bid, assuring them of his willingness to work with party members and stakeholders to strengthen the department and advance the NDC’s communication objectives.
He maintained that effective political communication would be crucial to building the party’s brand and positioning it for electoral success in 2028 and subsequent elections.
