Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has strongly criticized the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama, questioning their potential return to power.
Questioning the NDC’s potential offerings, Dr. Bawumia remarked, “If I think about it, I don’t understand. Ghanaians gave the former President an opportunity to govern, but he failed to deliver. What new proposals does he have, considering the NPP’s extensive developmental achievements”, he ask.
Addressing Party supporters at New Edubiase Constituency, Dr. Bawumia highlighted the NPP’s superior performance across various sectors compared to the previous NDC administration.
He emphasized the significant strides made in job creation, agriculture, industrialization, infrastructure development, and social services.
“We’ve created more jobs than you, we’ve accomplished more in agriculture than you, we’ve established more industries than you, we’ve built more roads than you, we’ve constructed more airports than you, we’ve built more interchanges than you, we’ve established more hospitals than you, we’ve constructed more schools than you, we’ve built more public libraries than you, we’ve developed more fish landing sites than you”
“The NPP has surpassed the NDC in every aspect of governance,” Dr. Bawumia asserted.
The Vice President also pointed to advancements in sanitation facilities, sports infrastructure, and enhanced equipment provision for security forces.
“we’ve established more sanitation facilities than you, we’ve built more astro turf pitches than you, and we’ve constructed more sports facilities than you.
“We’ve also provided more equipment for the police, the military, and the navy than you. In every aspect of the economy, we’ve surpassed you”.
Dr. Bawumia further underscored the NPP’s commitment to education, mentioning the reinstatement of teacher and nursing trainee allowances, as well as the implementation of free technical and vocational education.
“We’ve brought back the teacher trainee allowance and nursing trainee allowance. We’ve also implemented free technical and vocational education”
