The Ghana Police Service has demonstrated its continued resolve in combating crime with the swift recovery of a stolen vehicle in Kumasi within 24 hours.
According to a police report from the Police Intelligence Directorate (PID) in the Ashanti Region, the incident was reported on April 3, 2026, by Alfred Gyimah, a legal practitioner with Toto Legal Firm in Kumasi.
He reported that his unregistered 2019 Honda CR-V had been stolen a day earlier, April 2, 2026, from the premises of his fenced residence.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect or suspects allegedly gained access to the complainant’s home through the kitchen door.
They reportedly entered the house and took the ignition keys of the vehicle, which had been left on a dining table, before making away with the car.
Acting swiftly on the report, a team from the PID visited the scene and commenced investigations.
Through intelligence-led operations, the police traced and successfully retrieved the stolen vehicle on April 4, 2026.
The vehicle was found along a stretch of road between Bohyen and the Asoufia Highway, specifically at Asobonteng near Kumasi Girls Senior High School.
The recovered vehicle has since been impounded by the police as investigations continue. Authorities say efforts are underway, including the activation of informants, to identify, locate, and apprehend the individuals behind the theft.
The police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety of property and urged the public to adopt enhanced security measures to prevent similar incidents.
