The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed its members and aspirants to ensure that campaign posters and banners do not exceed five feet by eight feet and are displayed only at designated locations.

The directive, issued by the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC), gives members and aspirants five days from October 10, 2026, to comply with the new rules or face disciplinary action.

In a press release dated October 9, 2026, and signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC expressed concern over the mounting of oversized campaign posters and banners at various locations across the country amid its ongoing reorganisation.

The committee said it discussed the matter at a meeting on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, emphasising the need to maintain order, discipline and a level playing field for all aspirants.

Under the new directive, campaign posters and banners must not exceed five feet in width and eight feet in height. Members and aspirants are also required to display them only at constituency offices, regional offices and election grounds.

The FEC said the measures were intended to promote modesty and restraint, particularly as the NDC is the governing party, and to prevent displays of extravagance that could conflict with the party’s values and the expectations of Ghanaians.

“All members and aspirants whose posters or banners do not currently conform to this directive are given five (5) days, with effect from tomorrow, to take the necessary steps to comply,” the statement said.

The committee warned that any wilful disregard of the directive would attract appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with the party’s constitution, electoral guidelines and other applicable directives.

It, however, expressed appreciation for the enthusiasm and commitment of party members and aspirants, urging them to cooperate fully to ensure compliance.

The directive comes as the NDC continues its internal reorganisation, during which the party says maintaining discipline and fairness among aspirants remains a priority.
