Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has mourned Nana Yaa Adutwumwaa Dudaa Kani Mmrosa II, the Queen of Nkoranza Traditional Area in the Bono East Region.

The Queen died at the age of 105 years while receiving treatment at a traditional health facility. Her death was publicly announced on March 29, 2024.

In accordance with tradition, her burial rites began on Friday, November 29.

The Asantehene who is traditionally the spouse of queens of Nkoranza paid his last respects to her as she laid in state on Monday, December 2, 2024, before her burial.

His Majesty attended the event accompanied by a huge entourage from the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region as well as esteemed traditional authorities from across Asanteman.

This solemn yet colourful event was marked by the display of undiluted Asante culture and tradition.

The Queen is widely recognised for her dedicated advocacy for unity and child education. This vision propelled the establishment of the Nkoranza Queenmothers Association, over which she superintended until her demise.

Traditionally, Nkoranzamanhemaa is the wife of Asantehene and the sister of Amakomhene.
