The government has urged applicants to exercise patience and restraint following concerns raised about the recent recruitment process into the country’s security services, particularly the immigration service.
According to jubilee house source, although some applicants have expressed frustration over the latest recruitment exercise, the process is largely free, fair and more transparent compared to previous years.
Officials pointed to the 2018 recruitment exercise as an example of the challenges associated with the high number of applicants. During that exercise, about 84,000 people applied to join the immigration service, but only 500 applicants were eventually recruited.
The government noted that the limited number of available positions has often made the process highly competitive, leaving many qualified applicants unsuccessful.
As part of efforts to strengthen the country’s security architecture and create employment opportunities, the government has announced plans to recruit more than 20,000 personnel into the various security services over the next four years.
Authorities explained that the recruitment will be carried out in phases, beginning with 5,000 personnel in the first year.
Government officials are therefore appealing to applicants and the general public to remain calm and allow the process to proceed smoothly, assuring that the recruitment exercise is being conducted in a transparent and accountable manner.
