The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed all its communicators and spokespersons to refrain from appearing on media platforms owned by or affiliated with former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, until further notice.
The directive, issued by the party’s Directorate of Communications on Sunday, July 5, 2026, affects all national, regional, constituency and electoral area communicators, as well as party spokespersons.
According to the statement signed by the NPP’s Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah, party communicators are prohibited from appearing on or participating in programmes on Oman FM, Ash FM, Net2 TV, and any other media platform owned by or affiliated with Mr. Agyapong.
The party explained that the decision follows the referral of several petitions concerning Mr. Agyapong to the NPP’s National Disciplinary Committee for investigation and determination in accordance with the party’s constitution.
The statement said the directive was intended to protect the integrity of the ongoing disciplinary process, preserve party unity, and prevent public commentary that could prejudice the outcome of the committee’s work.
It therefore instructed all affected party communicators to comply strictly with the directive until the Disciplinary Committee concludes its work and the party officially communicates its decision.
“The Directorate counts on the full cooperation of all Party officers and communicators in demonstrating the discipline, loyalty, and respect for the Party’s constitutional processes that have always distinguished the New Patriotic Party,” the statement said.
The NPP added that any further directives on the matter would be communicated through the appropriate party channels.
The statement did not indicate how long the restriction would remain in force, stating only that it would remain effective until the disciplinary process has been completed and an official decision has been announced.
