The General Secretary of the Asante Youth Association (AYA), Kodua, has strongly rejected comments made by Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, former CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), accusing him of lacking integrity and persona.
This public exchange was triggered after Nkansah took to Facebook to criticize the Asante Youth Association, writing: “Someone should tell these idiots to stop misusing ‘Asante.’ The foolishness is too much. Why should Asante Youth be more interested in internal NPP issues? A group of disappointed Alan supporters hiding behind Asante Youth. Mfui!”
However, in an interview on Abusua965FM’s AbusuaNkommo show with host Kojo Marfo monitored by Kumasimail, Kodua dismissed these allegations.
He challenged anyone claiming that AYA solicited money from them to come forward, promising immediate repayment.
“Anyone that claims we (AYA) came to him for money should say it, we will bring his money to him,” Kodua stated emphatically.
Kodua further noted, “We cut our cloth according to our size; we don’t play with filthy people.”
Recounting his first impression of Ofosu Nkansah, he said, “The first time I met him, I was disappointed with his persona. People like him, we don’t deal with.”
He also criticized Nkansah’s political involvement, stating that if it had been under former President J.A. Kuffour, where intellectualism and integrity play a role, Nkansah would not have risen beyond managing a small team at Zoomlion in the district.
“It is the NPP that, at one time, accepted ‘foolish people’s play.’ In any serious party under J.A. Kuffour, the biggest position this guy (Kofi Ofosu Nkansah) would have gotten, in fact, would be managing Zoomlion workers at a district assembly. I am telling you the truth; I have played an effective role in the party before.”
Kodua referenced his own active roles in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as TESCON President and Acting Youth Organizer for Brong Ahafo, questioning Nkansah’s political experience.
“When I was playing effective roles in the party, where was he?”
Kodua challenged Nkansah to name anyone who came to him to collect money, stressing that AYA interacts only with serious individuals, not people like Nkansah.
He concluded, “Because of bad things, that is why everyone has a name. We engage with serious minds, not people like him.”
