Businessman and philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama has inspected ongoing construction works on a 1,600-bed dormitory facility he is fully financing for Tamale Senior High School (TAMASCO).
The visit took place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, following his attendance at a funeral in Salaga in the Northern Region.
The infrastructure project, which was revitalised in 2022, is now 90 percent complete. Mr. Mahama, an alumnus of TAMASCO, toured the site, interacted with students and staff, and expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far.
“We’re almost there… this project will be completed on schedule, and I will continue to give TAMASCO the support it needs,” he assured students and school authorities.
During the visit, Mr. Mahama also addressed students, urging them to remain focused on their studies.
“Focus on your education because the future is yours, and we will continue to give you the support you need,” he said.
He further pledged to enhance the school’s lighting infrastructure to improve learning conditions and safety on campus. According to him, proper lighting is essential for both academic work and student movement in the evenings.
In a further show of support, bags of rice and other essential items were delivered to the school on Monday, November 24, 2025, to assist the student population.
The school prefect, Abdul Rahman Baba, speaking on behalf of the student body, expressed appreciation for Mr. Mahama’s continued support.
“We are very thankful to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama for always supporting us and helping improve our school. We are truly grateful to him,” he said.
The 1,600-bed dormitory project is expected to significantly reduce congestion and improve accommodation for students upon completion.
