The Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, has called on alumni of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to actively support their alma mater as a way of giving back and strengthening the institution for future generations.
In a post on his official Facebook page, the minister said he was honoured to speak at the maiden KNUST Kaptains of Industry Soirèe and Awards Nite (KOISAN), held in Accra under the theme “Partnership in Progress.” The event brought together KNUST alumni who are leaders in various sectors of industry.

Alhaji Muntaka stressed that alumni support is critical to the growth and sustainability of the university, noting that KNUST played a significant role in shaping the lives and careers of its graduates. “KNUST made us what we are today, and we must contribute to making it better than we met it,” he said.

He emphasized the need to position the university to train more students who would serve Ghana and humanity, adding that strong partnerships between universities, alumni and industry are essential to achieving this goal.
The interior minister also shared nostalgic reflections on his time as a student at KNUST and used the occasion to encourage fellow alumni to contribute to the newly launched KNUST Alumni Endowment Fund (KAEF), which is aimed at mobilising resources to support the university’s development agenda.

He expressed confidence that sustained alumni involvement and strategic partnerships would help KNUST enhance its capacity to deliver quality education and remain competitive globally.
