Ghana’s power supply has been fully restored following a major system disruption, according to Energy Minister John Abdulai Jinapor.
In a statement shared on Facebook, the Minister confirmed that all generation units are back in service and the national grid has been stabilised after what he described as a challenging outage.
He credited the swift recovery to the efforts of engineers, technicians, and emergency teams who worked continuously to resolve the situation. “In the face of a major system disruption, and against all odds, our engineers, technicians, and emergency teams worked around the clock to restore power and stabilise the grid,” he stated.
Mr. Jinapor expressed appreciation to key institutions in the energy sector, including the Ghana Grid Company, Volta River Authority, and Electricity Company of Ghana, as well as other supporting agencies, for their coordinated response.
He noted that the successful restoration demonstrates the resilience and capability of Ghana’s workforce, particularly under pressure. “This moment shows that even under pressure, Ghana can rely on the strength and skill of its people,” he added.
The Minister concluded by offering well wishes to professionals in the energy sector and the nation at large, highlighting the importance of continued dedication to maintaining a stable power supply.
