President John Dramani Mahama has left Accra for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to participate in the 39th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU).
During the summit, President Mahama is expected to lead and engage in a series of high-level discussions on key continental priorities, including reparations, gender equity and financial inclusion. He will also co-host several side events on the margins of the summit.
As part of his engagements, the President will host a breakfast meeting on Saturday focused on the Accra Reset initiative, under the theme “Addis Reckoning.”
In addition, President Mahama is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with fellow African leaders and heads of multilateral organizations. He will also take part in the Italy–Africa Forum, aimed at strengthening cooperation between African states and Italy.
The First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, is also in Addis Ababa to attend the Summit of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD).
President Mahama and the First Lady are expected to return to Accra on Monday, February 16.
