Chief of Staff at the Jubilee House, Julius Debrah has reaffirmed government’s commitment to deepening the Kaizen philosophy as part of efforts to drive productivity, industrialisation, and sustainable economic growth in Ghana.
According to Mr. Debrah, the government is seeking to transform Kaizen from a project-based intervention into a long-term national movement that promotes operational efficiency, innovation, competitiveness, and continuous improvement across both public and private sector institutions.
He made the remarks after receiving a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency led by Chief Representative Mr. Takayuki Uchiyama for discussions on strengthening the implementation of Kaizen principles in Ghana.

In a statement shared on Facebook, the Chief of Staff said the engagement also reviewed the progress Ghana has made through the Ghana Enterprises Agency and other public institutions in embedding Kaizen principles within micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and organisations.
He noted that the initiative has contributed significantly to productivity improvement, enterprise performance, and sustainable business growth.

Mr. Debrah stressed that the government, under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama, continues to prioritise industrialisation, job creation, and private sector expansion, adding that Kaizen remains essential in building resilient enterprises and improving institutional efficiency.
“The efforts continue to demonstrate the value of structured productivity improvement in strengthening enterprise performance and driving sustainable growth,” he stated.

The JICA delegation included Senior Representative Ms. Miwa Ito, JICA Expert Mr. Masashi Yamanaka, Mr. Sylvester of the Governance Team, Ms. Naho Aizu, Private Sector Representative, and Programme Specialist Ms. Nana Adwoa Konadu Asiam.
Also present at the meeting was Chief Executive Officer of the GEA, Margaret Ansei.

Mr. Debrah commended JICA, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the Kaizen Excellence Center of Ethiopia, and the GEA for their continued support in advancing productivity improvement and enterprise development in Ghana and across Africa.
