The Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, on Thursday, May 15, hosted the outgoing United States Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Virginia Palmer, as part of her farewell engagements marking the end of her diplomatic tenure.
During the courtesy call at the Minister’s office in Accra, the two leaders reflected on the strong partnership between Ghana and the United States, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration in key areas such as security, governance, and bilateral relations.
Alhaji Mubarak praised Ambassador Palmer for her outstanding service and impactful contributions to the Ministry and its allied agencies, highlighting significant progress in U.S.-Ghana cooperation during her term.

“Ambassador Palmer has been an invaluable partner in promoting peace, security, and good governance. Her tenure has strengthened ties between our two nations, especially in the area of security,” the Minister noted.
Ambassador Palmer expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in Ghana, applauding the productive partnership with the Ministry and reaffirming the United States’ ongoing support for Ghana’s development efforts.

“It has been an honour to serve here. The strength and depth of our bilateral relationship have been truly inspiring, and I am confident this partnership will only grow stronger,” she said.
