The New Patriotic Party (NPP), through its Parliamentary Leadership and in collaboration with the International Centre for Governance and Policy (ICGP), has organised an intensive training programme for selected Members of Parliament aimed at enhancing their effectiveness in legislative duties.
The programme, themed “Mastering Parliamentary Excellence,” forms part of the party’s continuous efforts to build the capacity of its lawmakers in areas including parliamentary practice, public policy engagement, constituency representation, and political party organisation.
The training, held in the United Kingdom, marks the third batch of NPP MPs to benefit from similar capacity-building initiatives organised in both the UK and Canada.
According to the party, the programme is designed to provide participants with practical knowledge, critical analytical skills, and tools needed to improve their performance as legislators and strengthen democratic governance.
The initiative highlights the NPP’s commitment to leadership development, institutional strengthening, and promoting effective parliamentary governance.
Special recognition was given to the leadership of the NPP’s Minority Caucus in Parliament, including Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, Patricia Appiagyei, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Habib Iddrisu, and Jerry Ahmed Shaib for their role in supporting the initiative.
The party also acknowledged the participation of NPP National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye and Deputy General Secretary Annie Tsibo-Darko, who represented the party’s leadership.
The NPP said the commitment of its parliamentary leadership towards strengthening the skills and knowledge of MPs demonstrates its focus on excellence, good governance, and improved representation of citizens.
