The newly appointed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Atebubu-Amantin, Thomas Masud, has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting quality education in the municipality.
He made this known during a courtesy visit to the Amantin Traditional Council on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
The visit, aimed at formally introducing himself and seeking the blessings and cooperation of traditional leaders, was met with a warm reception from the chiefs and queen mothers of the area, led by Osaberima Bonsie Apau Bonsu, Paramount Chief of the Amantin Traditional Area.

In his address, Thomas Masud acknowledged the unique administrative structure of the municipality, which comprises two paramountcies Atebubu and Amantin.
He expressed his gratitude for the cordial welcome and assured the council of his readiness to collaborate with them to drive development across the area.
“I am here to serve and to work with you. I believe in teamwork and I am confident that together, we can address the pressing needs of our people,” he stated.
Highlighting some of the pressing challenges facing the Amantin community, the MCE pointed to the poor state of sanitation, particularly the issue of the town’s dumping site, as well as the inadequate market infrastructure. However, he emphasized that his topmost priority is improving the quality of education within the municipality.

“I appeal to the Traditional Council to join me in building a better Amantin, especially in strengthening the educational foundation of our children,” he urged.
Masud also commended the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Sanja Nanja, for his continued support and for sustaining development projects in the municipality.
In response, Osaberima Bonsie Apau Bonsu expressed the council’s appreciation for the MCE’s visit and echoed concerns about the mounting waste management challenges, deteriorating school buildings, poor market infrastructure, and the lack of adequate health facilities in the area.
He assured the MCE of the Traditional Council’s full cooperation and support in addressing these issues and fostering lasting development in the Amantin community.
