Founder and leader of the All People’s Congress, Hassan Ayariga has challenged the government to publicly release a detailed annual agenda for the Kwahu Business Forum, demanding measurable targets to address Ghana’s agricultural and manufacturing deficits.
Ayariga emphasized that govt agricultural focus must prioritize food security by reducing reliance on imports.
“We need to look at the AGRIC sector, food security which should be a priority for us because we don’t produce we import food to consume and this must be our major priority”.
Speaking to journalists at the Kwahu Business Summit, Ayariga stressed “In production and manufacturing, we are not making progress. So, in the manufacturing sector, what is the government’s aim? Which specific manufacturing sector is the government trying to grow?
“we must have the list of activities that we want to do in a year and achieve it within the year so that next year when we come hear we can table activities Kwahu Business forum help develop.”
He asserted that the previous year’s Kwahu Business Forum produced no visible outcomes, citing the absence of progress reports.
“Last year, the Kwahu Business Forum was held, but this year nobody is telling us the results from last year. We have not seen any outcomes from the previous Kwahu Business Forum. For me, last year’s forum was a failed attempt”
“Politicians must back their promises with verifiable actions and documented results”.
Ayariga noted Ghana’s untapped entrepreneurial potential.
“There are many Ghanaian men with innovative business ideas, but they lack motivation, support, and the financial resources to execute them”, he concluded.
