New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirant for Nandom, Lawyer Sylvester Isang, has unveiled an eight-point development agenda centred on agriculture, job creation, education, healthcare, social protection, water and sanitation, culture, and information and communication technology.
The agenda, titled “The Nandom Agenda: Possible Together,” was unveiled as part of Mr Isang’s campaign following his declaration of intent to contest the NPP’s parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Under the proposed plan, Mr Isang seeks to establish a Tractor Service Centre to make farm machinery readily available to farmers for timely land preparation and introduce an agricultural support package to ensure each Paramount and Divisional Chief has at least two acres of farmland ploughed.
He also proposes linking farmers to reliable and profitable markets and facilitating access to improved and high-yielding seeds.
On employment, the agenda proposes a Business Development Fund for entrepreneurs and small businesses, interest-free revolving loans for women entrepreneurs, expanded vocational and skills training, and a free apprenticeship programme for young people.
Mr Isang also proposes community farms to create employment and improve food security, as well as networking platforms to connect job seekers with employment opportunities.
In the health sector, the aspirant proposes a medical support fund to cover part or all of the medical expenses of vulnerable patients and free registration and renewal of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) memberships for vulnerable residents.
He also proposes motivation packages to improve the welfare and retention of health workers, improvements in health infrastructure, and a network of Nandom health professionals to support medical outreach, capacity building and human-resource development.

Education also features prominently in the agenda, with proposals to expand his existing scholarship support beyond Law, Engineering and Medicine to other accredited tertiary programmes.
The plan further proposes support for needy but brilliant students through the FIC Brothers, the Catholic Church and other Christian churches, alongside Best Teacher and Best Student Award Schemes.
Other education proposals include annual quizzes for basic and senior high schools, one-hot-meal and examination-material support for BECE candidates, a network of Nandom professionals at home and abroad to mobilise resources and expertise for education, and a “Freshers Support Initiative” for newly admitted SHS and university students.
For vulnerable groups, Mr Isang proposes skills acquisition and vocational training for persons with disabilities, including the provision of tools and equipment, food assistance for orphans, widows, the aged and persons with disabilities, and an “Operation Roofing Place” initiative to provide decent sleeping places for widows.
He also proposes “Operation Plough an Acre” to ensure persons with disabilities have at least one acre of farmland ploughed for farming.
The agenda further covers water, sanitation and the environment, including the expansion and rehabilitation of boreholes and small-town water systems, public education against bushfires, and environmental conservation and community sanitation initiatives.
On culture and community development, Mr Isang proposes the renovation or construction of befitting palaces for paramount and divisional chiefs, support for the Nandom Traditional Council and landowners to establish a Customary Lands Secretariat, and the establishment of a Nandom Cultural Centre.
He also proposes an annual inter-community football competition and collaboration with the Nandom Traditional Council to introduce Zongo Fest to enable Zongo communities to showcase their traditions and strengthen peaceful coexistence.
In the media and ICT sector, the agenda proposes upgrading Nandom FM into a modern, well-equipped radio station, expanding the reach of Nandom Television and establishing a website and other digital platforms to provide timely information on development initiatives, opportunities and achievements.
The plan also proposes using digital tools and social media to engage the youth and wider Nandom community and building the capacity of media personnel.
Mr Isang’s proposed agenda is anchored on the theme “A Stronger Nandom | A Brighter Future | Together We Can”, with the broader message of “People | Development | Prosperity.”
The proposals form part of his case to become the NPP’s parliamentary candidate as the party seeks to reclaim the Nandom seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2028 general elections.
